MOWZEY RADIO KILLER ARRESTED BY UGANDAN POLICE
The suspect identified as Godfrey Wamala alias Troy was found at a friend’s home in Kyengera Wakiso district, where he had been hiding.
The suspect is recording a statement at Katwe Police Station and will be transferred to Entebbe Police Station.
Mowzey, 33, a father of five, described by many as a talented musician, died on Thursday last week at Case Clinic in Kampala, from head injuries he sustained during a brawl in a local bar in Entebbe.
Entebbe authorities have since closed the bar as investigations into the matter go on.
Mowzey’s body was laid to rest at Kagga, Nakawuka in Wakiso district on Saturday. At the burial, Mowzey’s mother, Jane Kasubo, cursed her son’s killers.
“I feel pained, totally pained. However, what hurts me is that I did not see my son’s killers. I curse those who killed my son. I curse you. I curse you,” the teary Kasumba said.
Among the many eulogies, President Yoweri Museveni hailed the late as someone who inspired many youth through music.
Meanwhile A court in Entebbe has remanded the suspected killer of Ugandan musician Moses Ssekibogo alias Mowzey Radio over murder.
Troy had appeared before Chief magistrate Kaitesi for formal reading of the murder charges against him.
The Chief Magistrates however, did not allow him to take plea because the charges against him are capital in nature and can only be tried by the High court.
Troy has now been sent on remand until Feb 26, 2018 after the resident state Attorney, Julius Muhiirwe informed court that police investigations are not incomplete.
Troy was represented by renowned Human rights lawyer, Ladislous Rwakafuuzi while Mowzey Radio’s family had John Bosco Mudde on watching brief.
