Sport can be “a strong and dynamic vector for Africa”, stressed the French Head of State at the end of a luncheon which also brought together the presidents of the French Football Federation ( FFF ) Noël Le Graët and the Fifa Gianni Infantino. Macron announced the launch of a “platform for transformation through sport” in Africa with an initial budget of €15 million, which will finance “grassroots projects”. The Sexual Offences Court in Lagos yesterday heard from a rape victim how three men who posed as a female on social media, drugged and raped her. Giving an account of what happened before the judge, the victim,Sybil Nwaka who is also a model, said she came in contact with a  female fashion designer online who said she was based in the UK and that whenever she returns to Nigeria, she would be needing her to showcase some of her piece. The supposed female fashion designer, Vanessa, contacted the victim when she supposedly reached Nigeria and asked her to come and meet her at a certain location. The Yobe State Coordinator of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, Sanusi Atose, has blamed the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria's North-East for his inability to account for N613,000 belonging to the board. JAMB had summoned Mr. Atose to Abuja to appear before an administrative panel led by Registrar Ishaq Oloyede to explain the disappearance of the cash after he received registration scratch cards of that amount. But in his explanation, the official, according to details of the session exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES, claimed an alleged Boko Haram attack in Yobe State left him unable to account for the money. Mr. Atose said tellers, receipts and invoices were destroyed in the attack, which he said left him with no documentation for the transaction. The Benue State Police Command has announced the murder of one of its officers recently kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the state. According to DAILY POST, four policemen were last week kidnapped and a security van burnt down after suspected Fulani herdsmen ambushed security men in Logo LGA of the state. The officers were said to be returning from a confidence-building mission in remote villages when suspected herdsmen opened fire on them in Tse Akpam village, near Azege town. Giving update on the incident, the command’s PRO, Moses Yamu told DAILY POST on Monday that the lifeless body of the officer was discovered with both eyes, ears and nose plucked out. After months away from his family, a police officer Corporal Eric Mureithi of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Mwingi, Kitui County, Kenya, returned home only to be confronted by a nightmare. Mureithi now uses crutches and sustained serious injuries to his head and arms after being reportedly attacked by a fellow officer whom he found with his wife on the day he arrived Nairobi. On January 6, Mureithi, had travelled from Mwingi to Nairobi for a family reunion and to take his son to secondary school.
