Alexander Ajifolajifaola (aka 9ice) throwback photos surface online as he turns 38


When the song Gongo Aso was released in the year 2008, it rapidly grew into one of the biggest Nigerian hit singles of all time. 

Almost every social gathering rocked to the beautiful beats of the song. The name 9ice gradually grew into a household name in the Nigerian music industry. 

Everyone was simply fascinated by the talents of the young man from the southern part of Nigeria. 





Born on 17 January 1980, Alexander Abolore Adegbola Adigun Alapomeji Ajifolajifaola popularly known by his stage name 9ice started his music career in 2000 but only attained huge media recognition in the year 2008 when he released his famous hit Gongo Aso which eventually won him the award for Best Hip Hop Artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards.



The Street Credibility crooner has gone on to win so many other awards.As the singer turns a year older, one may wonder what hthe songwriter's life was before all the fame and money. A couple of his photos from way back recently surfaced the internet and we are yet to recover from effects of these throwbacks 9ice, however, proved to be an ambitious man. Despite the success from his music career, he decided to take a step further and delve into politics. 

In the year 2014, he declared his intentions of contesting for a political office in his native Ogbomosho in Oyo state.which later prompted him to join the All Progressive Congress (APC) and declared his interest to contest for a seat at the Federal House of Representatives. Although he lost out during the primaries, 9ice was named as a special adviser to the Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

9ice who is celebrating is 38th birthday recently took to his Instagram page to write: "Happy Birthday To Everyone Celebrating Thier Day Of Birth Today. More grace more mercy more blessing and more prosperity."
